Real accuracy. Real Data. No BS

Range Truth exists for shooters who care more about what actually works than about hype and marketing. My goal is simple: to test rifles, optics, ammo, and gear in a consistent, honest way and share the results so you can make smarter decisions with your time and money.

My idea for Range Truth started when I was tired of constantly seaching the Internet trying to get a piece of information here, and another there. I’d find reviews that would tell say it shot 3/4 MOA, except that one that I pulled. I was very surprised at how often that happened. Did they pull it? Was it the gun? When I’m looking for a gun, I want to know what it does. What ammo works well with it? What kind of accuracy can I expect from that gun with different ammunition? What kind of muzzle velocity will it have with different manufactured ammo? What is the trigger pull weight? Is the trigger smooth, gritty, soft, lots of travel? I want to pull everything together for you so you will have a good idea of what you are buying before you buy.

Who I Am:
I’m the guy behind Range Truth – a lifelong shooter, hunter, and data nerd who loves two things:
• Stretching rifles out on the range
• Digging into what the numbers actually say
I’m not sponsored by a big manufacturer, I’m not trying to be a celebrity, and I’m not here to tell you that everything I touch is “amazing.” I’m here to test gear like a real person uses it and show you exactly how it performs.

What Makes Range Truth Different:
A lot of reviews are just opinions and tabletop shots. Range Truth focuses on performance:
Accuracy over aesthetics – Group size and consistency matter more than fancy machining photos.
Repeatable methods – I use a consistent test setup so you can compare results from video to video. My goal is to tell you how well each gun shoots, not how good or bad I shoot. No more “I pulled that one.”
Honest results – If something doesn’t perform, I’ll say so. If it surprises me, I’ll say that too.
Shooter-neutral testing – The goal is to test the rifle or ammo, not how good I feel like shooting that day.
Ammo optimization – I try different loads to find what performs best in each rifle, so when you buy that gun yourself, you’ll already know what ammo is likely to run well—and even what muzzle velocity to expect.

How I Test:
While each video will explain the exact setup, here’s the general approach behind Range Truth testing:
• Zero and confirmation groups at realistic distances
• Multiple 3–5 shot groups to measure consistency instead of a single lucky string
• Chronograph data (muzzle velocity, ES, SD) when applicable
• Cold-bore and follow-up shots to see how rifles behave from the very first shot
• Real-world positions – not only benched shooting, but practical field positions when relevant
• Environmental context – noting conditions that matter (wind, temperature, etc.)
The idea isn’t to create a sterile laboratory environment, but to get as close as is practical for a real shooter on a real range.

Safety & Responsibility:
Nothing on this site or channel matters more than safety.
• I follow established firearm safety rules on and off camera.
• You are responsible for knowing your local laws, using safe practices, and staying within your skill level.
• If you’re new to firearms, seek qualified in-person training before attempting anything seen here.
Range time should be fun, but it should always be safe and responsible.

What You’ll See on Range Truth:
Here’s the kind of content you can expect:
• Rifle and pistol reviews focused on accuracy and reliability
• Ammo comparisons with real group sizes and velocity data
• Optic and gear reviews from a shooter’s perspective
• Practical tips for getting more accuracy out of your existing rifles and gear
As the channel grows, I’ll also add downloadable data sheets, test templates, and reference tables.
